Oct 21 - Laundry Adventures & the British Museum

Here I go again!  I guess you want to know the story behind that picture.

First thing this morning I went downstairs to check on the Laundry Room.  One of the washers was free so I raced upstairs, stripped the bed, grabbed the sheets and dirty clothes bag, then raced back down to get it going.  The cycle I picked would take 65 minutes.  Slow, but not a problem.

I worked on yesterday's blog for a while, then went down and put the laundry into the dryer.  This was going to take 90 minutes.  Slow again, I guess because it ventless.

Went down to get the 'dry' laundry.  Everything had wound up into a tight ball inside the sheets, and was still damp.

Since it was getting close to my entrance time at the museum I just spread everything out and left.

It's 4:30 p.m. and I'm back after being at the museum  Everything is dry (whew).

I'll have to do one more wash while I'm here - maybe 3rd time will be lucky.

British Museum

I got there just before noon.  The line was minimal and I went straight in.

Where to start?  I kind of wandered about aimlessly.  The British Museum is laid out pretty nicely (as opposed to the Science Museum) and their map includes very brief descriptions of the exhibits.  The map brochiure also has a "Don't miss" list.  

That gave me an inspiration:  I'll just follow that list around and post it to the blog. Her's the list:

Well, that didn't work so well. Room 2a is a tiny room right beside the entrance - I think it has 'featured' exibits.  Here's what was there:

There you have it - a quick trip through the British Museum.  I like the format, as I don't have to research all the descriptions (in order to confirm them) - I just have to plunk them in.
